How Can You Tailor Your Workouts To Your Body's Anatomy?

We all want the abs and the great body, but we all probably want to eat our favorite desserts as well (RIP the chocolate chip cookies). So you might think sacrificing more time is a good idea in order to get both the body and your decedent dessert. Well this idea can work out as long as you don't overdo it. Muscles and humans are pretty resilient when you think about it, but also there is quite a bit of research out there that can help you optimize your gains in the gym if you so choose to look into this information.

One thing I think is helpful to know is that it takes between 42 and 72 hours for a muscle to fully recover. So if you start working out the same muscle intensely, there is a possibility that the muscle or tendon may easily become injured. It's also important to note that you would not be building anything new at this point but could actually be regressing in the muscle's gains by working that muscle out too much.

Another area that is helpful to note is that our metabolism prefers glucose for fuel. When you eat a piece of bread, this is a complex carbohydrate. The digestive system must break this down into a simple sugar (aka glucose) so that the glucose can be bioavailable in the bloodstream to your muscles, heart, and brain. Quick side tangent, eating complex carbs shows why your blood sugar does not spike as quickly as if you ate a bunch of candy. Anyways, the muscles prefer sugar to be available to them during workouts.

In order to gain muscle, you must eat slightly more calories than usual. This means, you have to eat ENOUGH. So many times people do not eat enough or forget to eat because they are busy. Then they turn around and wonder why they are not gaining weight... hmmm.

There is nothing wrong with eating your favorite dessert. The body is "hungriest" for sugar right after a workout. If you are curious for more in depth information look into when muscle cells are the most insulin sensitive after a workout.

Side note: there is nothing wrong with the way that you are now. There is also nothing wrong with improving yourself. Do what makes you happy.

Hopefully you find this informational and helpful when trying to figure out your body. In the end, the body was made to survive and it will change and adapt as needed to do so. I think its easy to get mad at our body when our genetics don't seem to be responding in a way that the society says it should. Unfortunately, the way that we react to this may only make our body respond worse or in retaliation. I hope you're living your life to the fullest and good luck out there!
